"When animals express their feelings they pour out like water from a spout. Animals' emotions are raw, unfiltered, and uncontrolled. Their joy is the purest and most contagious of joys and their grief the deepest and most devastating. Their passions bring us to our knees in delight and sorrow." ~Marc Bekoff

Best Day Ever

Its like people literally cannot see with feeling eyes, and you can hear it in what they say.

Some who say ‘I’ll never stop eating ‘’meat’’, you’ll never get everyone to go vegan, people have always eaten ‘’meat’’, you’re never going to change that.’ They feel nothing, understand nothing, they are completely asleep, unconscious, programm
ed, unaware, unevolved, the old paradigm matrix, whatever you want to call it. Lights are on but there’s nobody home.

Then you get those who are transitioning who say ‘Well you know people can only change at their own pace and you must be patient…’ They’ve begun to feel, in moments, kind of…there’s a stirring, to consideration, to some action. A dimly lit awareness is beginning to dawn.

Then you hear that someone’s finally awake, and they’re like ‘Oh my God we’ve got to stop this NOW!’ That’s it, they are seeing feelingly. Suddenly it’s as though their family pet or a three year old child is in that factory farm or abattoir, that vivisection and product testing lab. Suddenly they see, feelingly, that almost everything around them has an animal ‘product’ from the carpets under the feet, the tyres on cars, almost every product on every shelf….and its like that’s made from their loved ones, their family.

Those who are not awake yet feel this is emotional or an exaggeration. One day, if they wake up enough, they’ll know this is no exaggeration. When you’re this awake, its not even possible to put into words to comprehend the scale of this macabre evil nightmare on earth we are inflicting on our brothers and sisters, the vulnerable species who are meant to be in our care. At this point every day the scales of illusion and denial drop from your eyes and reveal a new level of awareness and the urgency to do something begins to build and build.

Maybe its actually only when you’ve fully let it up into your mouth, into your heart and the suffering of those animals is with you and their desperate longing for mercy, when you’ve got to speak it every moment of everyday to try to reach everyone, regardless of who you upset, who you fall out with, only then perhaps when you’re really fully awake.

There is a shift happening an awakening. And this is it.

I forgot to add that the best way of waking up, the fast track to it, is to force yourself past that belief that you can't handle it and watch the footage. This next one is not graphic, but is profoundly moving...

Unusual Friendship! LOL

To all you hunters who kill animals for food; you ought to go to the store and buy the meat that was made there, where no animals were harmed! :p
Binti Jua is a western lowland gorilla female in the Brookfield Zoo, in Brookfield, Illinois. Binti is most well known for an incident which occurred on August 16, 1996, when she was eight years old.

A three-year old boy climbed the wall around her zoo enclosure and fell 18 feet onto concrete below, rendering him unconscious with a broken hand and a vicious gash on the side of his face.

Binti wa
lked to the boy’s side while helpless spectators screamed, certain the gorilla would harm the child. Another larger female gorilla approached, and Binti growled.

Binti picked up the child, cradling him with her right arm as she did her own infant, gave him a few pats on the back, and carried him 18 meters (59 ft) to an access entrance, so that zoo personnel could retrieve him. Her 17-month-old baby, Koola, clutched her back throughout the incident. The boy spent four days in the hospital and recovered fully.

The pygmy marmoset (Cebuella pygmaea)
is one of the world’s smallest monkeys – hence it is also called the dwarf monkey – and is a native of the South American rainforest.

Turkey stands up for animals!

13 Simultaneous protests in different cities in Turkey.

Thousands of animal activist and welfare organizations in Turkey came together to rally against the government’s proposed changes to Turkey's Animal Rights law 5199 that was issued in 2004.

"The draft document which was prepared in secret and presented to Parliament this month, would abolish the current program of Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) of Turkey’s stray cats and dogs."

There were simultaneous protests in 13 other cities

"In addition to ignoring demands that had been voiced by the animal rights community, such as the banning of dolphin parks or the introducing of tough rules against the breeding and selling pets, the draft introduces new practices such as isolating the city's stray animals and relaxing regulations on animal testing. Animal rights groups have labeled the proposal “the law of death.”

"The draft came as a shock to the country's animal activists as it was presented to the prime minister after he and representatives of the country's major animal rights groups had met.

"MOM!!! We haz a pawblem"

It’s not clear why this stray black cat turned up in the bear enclosure at the Berlin Zoo, but she’s been coming back for 10 years to see her friend, the oldest known female Asiatic bear.

This story is going to make you smile. A woman went to her local animal shelter just to pet the cats — and she found her own cat that had been missing for a year.

Strange and wonderful way to store food carried out by the bird - digging holes in trees to keep the fruits of walnut stock

This doesn't look like the same dog, but in fact it is. These photos were taken 3 months apart, before and after the adoption.

It is incredible what social media can do for a deaf, hopeless shelter dog. Read Nico's story here:
